Itinerary description

A nice day hike! This hike is another great find along the Hudson River, taking you up to the famous Bald Mountain. From the top you can see the Hudson River and Bear Mountain Bridge.

If you venture off trail you will find the old abandoned Cornell Mine. From the top of Bald Mountain do not venture off after sunset. There are mine shafts that can not be seen until after you fall in. Again this is a day hike.

On the way down take the red and white tail down, when you reach the fireplace/intersection go down and make a right. This will take you back onto the 1777 trail through Doodletown and back to your car.
