Itinerary description
Our first stop is the Dutch Fort, built in the 17th century during the Dutch colonial era. The fort stands as a testament to the rich history of Batticaloa. Here, you can explore the grounds, learn about the fort's history, and take in the views of the city and lagoon.
Next, we'll visit Gandhi Park, a beautiful and peaceful park named after the great Indian leader, Mahatma Gandhi.
Afterwards, we'll make our way to the main market, where you can experience the hustle and bustle of daily life in Batticaloa. This vibrant market is filled with vendors selling fresh produce, spices, and other local goods. It's a great place to find souvenirs and experience the local culture.
Our next stop is the lighthouse, located on the eastern coast of Batticaloa. This lighthouse was built during the British colonial period and offers stunning views of the Indian Ocean.
