Part of the trip corresponds to the tour "Northern Thailand Kaleidoscope" of Meier's World Travel or DER Tour.

ITINERARY

1st day (Monday / Friday): Bangkok
Arrival in Bangkok and depending on booking transfer to the upper middle class hotel AVANI Atrium Bangkok (4 stars) or to the luxury hotel Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok (5 stars), where you will spend the next 2 nights. The rest of the day is at leisure.

2nd day (Tuesday / Saturday): Bangkok
This day is at your leisure. Suggested program: Learn about the three most interesting temples in Bangkok (Wat Traimit, Wat Po, Wat Phra Kaew) and the Royal Palace on the city tour "One Day in Bangkok" and take the longtail boat through the Klongs and a rice barge over the Chao Phraya River (not included). (Breakfast)

Day 3 (Wednesday / Sunday): Bangkok - Kanchanaburi
In the morning you leave Bangkok in a westerly direction and visit the Floating Markets of Damnoen Saduak. Then it goes to Kanchanaburi. Here you visit the "JEATH" war museum and the military cemetery. After lunch, the longtail boat trip takes you through untouched nature to the houseboat-like jungle rafts. There is a visit to a Mon village on your program. Dinner and Mon Dance Performance. Overnight: in the very simple (no power), but extremely quaint "Jungle Rafts" or in the "Home Phutoey River Kwai". (Breakfast Lunch Dinner)

DAY 4 (Thursday / Monday): Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya
After breakfast, take the longtail boat back to the dock. Continue to the famous bridge on the Kwai, from where you will then drive on the route of the "Death Railway". Afterwards drive to Ayutthaya, which was destroyed by the Burmese in 1767 former capital of Siam. The numerous temple ruins suggest the former importance of the city. Worth seeing are the huge Wat Mongkol Borpith bronze statue and the three ancient pagodas of Wat Sri Sanpetch. Having lunch. Overnight: Classic Kameo Hotel (4 stars). (Breakfast lunch)

Day 5 (Friday / Tuesday): Ayutthaya - Phitsanulok - Sukhothai
After breakfast drive north to Phitsanulok. Before proceeding to Sukhothai, visit the Wat Maha Dhat temple with its significant 13th-century Buddha statue. Once in Sukhothai, you can admire the numerous temples, sculptures and stucco work while strolling through the Historical Park. West of the old city, you will find the remains of the royal temple of Wat Sri Chum, with its 11-meter-tall, seated Buddha statue. Lunch in a local restaurant. Overnight: Sukhothai Heritage Resort. (Breakfast Lunch Dinner)

Day 6 (Saturday / Wednesday): Sukhothai - Lampang - Chiang Rai
In the morning drive to Lampang, where you will visit the temple Wat Phra Dhat Lampang Luang with its highly revered Emerald Buddha. Lunch on the way. On your way north to Chiang Rai, make a short stop at Kwan Phaya Lake. Overnight at the Wiang Inn Hotel or at the luxury hotel The Legend Chiang Rai Resort (4 stars). (Breakfast lunch)

Day 7 (Sunday / Thursday): Chiang Rai - Mae Sai - Golden Triangle - Chiang Rai
Today you visit an original mountain village. During your visit, the inhabitants will show you daily routines of their everyday life. Then you drive to the northernmost city of Thailand to the Burmese border, to Mae Sai. Here you have time to stroll through the small market. Lunch on the way. At the end of the day, visit the "Golden Triangle", where the borders of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet on the Mekong River. There is the possibility of a boat trip on the Mekong. Return to Chiang Rai and overnight. (Breakfast lunch)

Day 8 (Monday / Friday): Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai - Hmong hill tribe
Breakfast and drive to Chiang Mai (about 3.5 hours). Continue to Mae Rim. Here you change to pick-ups that take you up the steep mountain road to the village of a Meo hill tribe and Hmong Hilltribe Lodge. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the surroundings of the Hmong hill tribe. Evening barbeque dinner with meo dances in the lodge (very basic accommodation without air conditioning, warm clothes recommended for the night!). Overnight: Hmong Hilltribe Lodge. (Breakfast, dinner)

Day 9 (Tuesday / Saturday): Hmong Mountain Tribe - Chiang Mai
Breakfast and drive to the orchid farm and then to an elephant camp. On the way to Chiang Mai you will get an insight into the way of working of the Thai farmers and the traditional order of the fields with the water buffalos. Arrival in Chiang Mai. Overnight stay depending on the booking in the middle class hotel Amora Tapae Hotel (3.5 stars) or in the high quality U Nimman Chiang Mai Hotel (4.5 stars). (Breakfast lunch)

10th day (Wednesday / Sunday): Chiang Mai
Today you will visit Chiang Mai's impressive temple Wat Doi Suthep. Afterwards, visit the artisan district Sankampaeng. In the evening there is the possibility to participate in a typical Thai dinner (not included, see excursion package). (Breakfast lunch)
