Itinerary description
An easy and sometimes scenic drive. It can be stressful in morning and evening rush hour, so try to avoid this if you can...You should also look for one of the country's national birds, the Scarlet Ibis (Eudocimus ruber) as you drive past the outer limits of the Caroni Swamp National Park... This is one of the many bird species resident in the swamp... It makes for great birdwatching early morning just after sunrise and just after sunset some evenings... Exercise extreme caution and vigilance on the highway because Trinidadians are not very careful drivers...
