Con los amigos del camping Mialanne (Arrens-Marsous, Val d`Azun)

La capilla de Poueyaspe fue construida para reemplazar el lugar de retiro de Saint Savin. Este lugar llamado hoy en día Pouey-Aspé (literalmente el promontorio escarpado) se encuentra situado en la montaña, por encima del pueblo de Uz a alrededor de 3 kilómetros. Para acceder, esta capilla cuenta con un sendero marcado (300 metros de desnivel y 45 minutos de ida). La antigua capilla se cae en ruinas y es levantada nuevamente en el siglo XIX. El crismón que se encuentra contra el dintel de la entrada de la iglesia de Uz parece un elemento antiguo de la capilla romana de Pouey-Aspé. El peregrinaje comienza a principios de octubre

Saint-Savin is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department, and the Midi-Pyrénées region, in south-western France. The community was founded in the fourth century as a Benedictine abbey under the protection of St. Martin.
The inhabitants (gentilés) of Saint-Savin are called “Saint-Savinois”.
One of the best places to view Saint-Savin is from the sixteenth-century chapel, Notre Dame de Piétat.

Saint Savin

Saint-Savin is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department, and the Midi-Pyrénées region, in south-western France. The community was founded in the fourth century as a Benedictine abbey under the protection of St. Martin.[1] The inhabitants (gentilés) of Saint-Savin are called “Saint-Savinois”. One of the best places to view Saint-Savin is from the sixteenth-century chapel, Notre Dame de Piétat. The known history of the Abbey of Saint-Savin-en-Lavedan dates back to 945. The counts and viscounts of Bigorre financed and helped arrange a major part of the construction and decoration of the monastery, and the abbey enjoyed prosperity for quite some time. In the thirteenth century, it controlled the territory of seven municipalities. Then, after several religious wars, the abbey was virtually abandoned. Only three monks lived there in 1790. In 1854 a violent earthquake ruined the abbey even more, but also caused something of a new beginning.
