Itinerary description

In The Oregon Trail video game, there is no option to take the ferry across the Snake River. That is because the game is set in 1848, and the local ferry, operated by Gustavus Glenn, was not available until 1869. The game designers did their research.

The hills along this stretch of the Snake River could only have looked more like the ones in the game if they were literally purple.
