Route from Sortland to Nyksund, a small town built on two islands connected by a 65 m long stone breakwater located on the island of Langøya in the Vesterålen archipelago.
Sortland is located in the Vesterålen archipelago between the Langøya and Hinnøya islands. Here in winter the sun never rises, while in the summer months it never sets. It is the ideal place to see the midnight sun and the northern lights.
Nyksund was one of the most popular populations of the Vesterålen archipelago at the beginning of the 20th century, due to the proximity of the rich fishing grounds found in the open sea. However, with the arrival of the motor boats of greater length it was losing importance and population. Currently there are very few neighbors who live in this town throughout the year, although in summer it is usually frequented by artists and tourists.
