Captain Mohammad Sarwar Shaheed, NH
He was born in 1910 in Village Sanghori, District Rawalpindi. He was commissioned in 2nd Punjab Regiment during 1944. Soon after the inception liberation move started in Kashmir against illegal Indian occupation. Company Commander Captain Muhammad Sarwar launched an attack against a strongly fortified enemy position in the Uri Sector and secured the area. On 27 July 1948, he moved forward with six of his men to secure passage through wire obstacle, during which he received a burst of fire at his chest and embraced martyrdom.
