Itinerary description
Today, we made it to the Russian border at mid-day and had to wait for lunch to finish before leaving Russia. We then drove over no man's land reaching the Mongolian side by 2.00pm. To our horror we were behind 20 Mongol Rally cars and were going nowhere until they were processed. It soon became clear that we were going nowhere tonight so set up camp in a concrete holding pen. We had no problem crossing into Mongolia, we just couldn't take the car, so at least we walked to the first village and had some meatballs. Very tasty.
