The US1 Overseas Highway is a beautiful scenic highway in Florida. It was inaugurated in 1938 and extends along unthinkable bridges that float in the Atlantic Ocean. It runs jumping between keys through a wonderful turquoise blue sea for 204 km. These small islands form an archipelago of about 1700 islands.
Until the beginning of the 20th century, the only possible communication with these islands was by boat. In 1913 Henry Flagler managed to take the railway to the last of the islands, creating one of the most impressive routes in the world. This engineering work did not last long, since in 1935 a terrible hurricane (Labor Day Hurricane) destroyed a large part of the structure, making it impossible to completely restore train service....
