In almost every taxi ride we were happy with offers for private exclusive taxi - tours. In addition to a city tour, visiting the desert or the palaces of Abu Dhabi is surprisingly affordable. It is therefore impossible to avoid. We then negotiated only the price and the breakpoints, exchanged the phone numbers and off we went.
The taxis are very comfortable. You will be brought exactly to the point from where you want to start walking. After the agreed time you will be picked up again in the noise of hot spots.
How do they do that?
We chose a mix of modern and traditional tour.
So - Marina Dubai, the largest ever man-made marina captivates with its breathtaking architecture and skyline with dozens of skyscrapers ... it continues via the artificially piled up palm island to the hotel Atlantis The Palm ... then to the Burj Al Arab - Dubai hotel - Icon ... to Dubai Creek, the natural inlet of Dubai divides into two neighborhoods.
At the mouth of the creek is the old town of Dubai - Deira. Here you can walk through lush streets, museums, mosques, courtyards, shops and small art galleries.
With an Abra we drive over the Dubai Creek and marvel in the Gold Souk.
Afterwards we land in the Dubai Mall and on the lakeside terraces. Below the Burj Khalifa the music fountains play until late in the evening.
There is plenty of information about Dubai throughout the tour. One learns how the locals live here, how they earn their money, why women are veiled here and what the garments of men mean.
