Itinerary description
Tobago remains a true undiscovered island gem to many travelers. But for those who do visit the island not only enjoys its ambiance but selfishly wishes it to remain this way. I guess the secret is being slowly let out as Tobago recently enjoyed a visit from the EMIR OF QATAR with his multi-billion dollar yacht. The island has a rich history in culture and bio-diversity, scenic idyllic beaches and numerous hiking trails. Its also a world famous dive site with its' many reefs, a bird-watchers paradise, a great kite-surfing pool and a great location for hopeless romantics. The Nylon pool, an in-sea shallow white coral pool always beckons everyone. Be warned, Life slows down in Tobago. It's the one spot where you can truly holiday and be refreshed. But with all to see, many travelers rarely venture past East of Scarborough, it's capital. Then they can hardly express seeing the real Tobago experience. Even as a T&T resident, I always try to maximize my visit by at least driving up to Roxborough then over to Parlatuvier. This became the first protected Forest Reserve in the Western Hemisphere in 1765 across the Main Ridge. Its' lookout alone is worth the price of any traveler for its' serenity. It moves and stirs something inside of you.
About this trip: It clocked in at 10 1/2 hours because of the numerous stopping points. This included a boat-ride to "Little Tobago" that's not recorded. In hind-site I should have included it. My bad. I also made a bad left turn at Les Coteaux ending up in Providence before returning to Plymouth, to really stay on the coast as much as possible. Well from that portion I now know where all the people in Tobago lives, something I've always wondered. It's a disappointment not to be able to log more photos of this trip. Wikiloc should fix this. This record can hardly do justice to the experience that is Tobago, but it is a place I return to as often as my allowances can accommodate, sometimes up to three times a year. In fact it might just be easier just buying a piece of land. All I need now is the correct Lotto numbers.
