Itinerary description

Lovely trail, especially on a warm day. Requires a bit of creativity at some spots, but all very fun and not particularly dangerous. My dog really enjoyed himself. I only had him on leash a couple of times because of cows (right at the start) and a bit of dangerous terrain that went around one of the falls. Also watch out for a barbed wire fence near the river from about half of the way up the river. It's just two lines of wire and a medium dog can go under it without a problem. We ran into two groups of wild boars. Luckily, my dog behaved himself, but probably scared them off with his barking. The trail starts out very easy and clear to follow but then becomes a bit complicated after the first waterfall. There isn't a clearly marked trail from this point (apart from very sparse red and white tape that's hanging from branches). But if you stick to the river banks, going around the bigger obstacles as needed, you should be able to more or less figure out where to go. When getting close to Via del Fosso Norcino, try to look out for a smaller trail that veers right from the main one so as to avoid having to go around the gate of the property you'll run into and where you can then take the Via. I saw the spot where this smaller trail meets with the Via, so it shouldn't be hard to find its entrance. On the way back to the car, I could have stayed on the main trail all the way back, but then decided to follow a small one that leads back to the first waterfall because it was quite hot. Great little downhill stretch.
