Itinerary description

Third episode of the Silver Coast bycicle trip from Figueira da Foz to Lisbon, we went from Peniche to Ericeira.

Perhaps the most boring day of the whole trip, not because it was really boring, just comparing to the other more exciting days, nevertheless it was cool.

Just after we left Peniche fortress, crossing a moat bridge, we ran throug some residencial neighbourhoods at Peniche outskirts. A complete contrast between the medieval beauty of Peniche and the normal everyday life buildings, maybe because of that contrast, did not seem to us the most beautifull place to live in the world, but it was just an impression.

Few km´s ahead we found Consolação beach, Areia Branca (white sand) beach, Porto Novo (new port) beach, where we had lunch.

After that important part of the day (fooooood xD), the day started to improve a little bit in terms of joyable ridding. We reached the beautifull Santa Cruz beach with a nice viewpoint in its end. Righ after that, a precisous (but a bit dangerous) cliff path, with an huge fall to the ocean.

After passing Praia Azul (Blue beach), we could have footcrossed the beach, or go around through some farm fields. We choose the second option, where after I heard a clinking sound I decided to stop to try to find out what was happened. I realized half of my kick stand fell apart. Well, a new one from same brand costs around 25€ (27$), so I decided to wait for the next village, in order to make an hole in the iron peace, in order to adapt a new and stronger screw. That costed me 2€ (~2$), 23€ saving :D

A few km´s after we headed a bit inland, in order to avoid the busy 247 National Road, the most closer option to follow the coast. Those inland roads leaded us to the mouth of Cuco river, right at the base of Ericeira hill, our final destination.

Keep tunned with us for the next and final episode of the coastal trip, where we visited the most western point of european continent, and the super windy arrival to Cascais, near Lisbon. See you there :)
