Itinerary description

A short 3-day trip across three rivers in Portugal (Mondego, Dão, and Vouga).
We started our journey in Coimbra, where we started following the first river (Mondego) upstream. Soon we reach the Mondego Library, a beautiful stone formation where we rest a bit.
By that time, we started to notice that we were sharing the path with some sort of bicycle competition. The path was wide enough to share with them.
We reached Penacova after some big pushing uphill.
After Penacova, we made our way to Aguieira Dam. The single trail in some areas makes it hard and dangerous to share the path with the bicycle competition, and after some close calls and lots of nerves, we decided to change our path in order to avoid problems.
In Aguieira Dam, we stopped again, it was the perfect stop for lunch.
With our fuel tank reefiled, we made it up the dam and across the lagoon, where we took some coffee before crossing one big bridge over the lagoon to make it to Santa Comba Dão.
In Santa Comba Dão, as the name suggests, we started following the Dão River and the Dão Greenway. From here, it was always a greenway, with amazing views and, of course, no cars.
Km after Km, where you only have to follow that cycle path, and no worries.
We reached our goal of the day and made camp near the river.
First day with 63 km and 1100 m elevation gain, we call it short to camp in that location, and we still had 2 more days to split 150 km, but as you will see in the next video, we made it all in 1 day.
