Itinerary description

The first 13 km are a continuous ups and downs between hills until you reach the Streethoogte pass from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the floors below. From here a diabolical super steep descent on paved road. Almost 1000 m of vertical drop in just a few km. Then flat and flowing road even if dusty up to Solitaire (about 60 km). Here I stopped for the night in a well organized campsite. Solitaire are a few houses, a gas station and a pastry shop built several years ago by a Scotsman who had started making apple pies which became famous throughout the desert. He is dead but the pastry shop continues to operate. And the cakes are super! Then dirt road up to a few km before Sesriem. The last 10 km are paved.
