WCRVBB-21-ELBERADWEG - STAGE 07 -Worlitz-Torgau 90 KM
Esta es la séptima etapa de la ruta del Elba (Elberadweg) entre Worlitz i Torgau. La etapa es llana y sin muchas dificultades, con la visita a los jardines y palacios de Worlitz y la ciudad de Wintteberg, ciudad natal de Luther.

STAGE DESCRIPTION
Just after leaving Worlitz, we make a little stroll around Worlitzer park. visiting St Petri Church, the Jewish Sinagogue and Worlitz Schloss. On the other side of the lake, there is the Worlitz English Park. Is an excellent park with fine views and many interesting monunents inside, like statues, temples (like the gothic House and Temple of Flora).

Just exiting the forest, we rejoin the path outside the dam of the river, and we follow straight till you reach the main road to Wittenberge. We cross the river using the cycle path in the bridge and we reach the natal city of Luther. In this city we can see the Castle and two main streets full of monuments and live and restaurants with tourists.

In the marketplatz we found a monument of Luther, just in front of the Rathaus. The Saint Marien Church, similiar to the Magdeburg's one, and the Luther House, are two of the main attractions of the city. Just exiting the city, we find Luther Oak, when Luther burnt his excomulgation ordre and from his ashes the oak was born.

After Wittenberge, we head east, till Elster, where we find a windmill and an old ferry set as monuments. Then we head south passing local solitary roads till Kloden where you can visit an interesting church and also a little castle. Now we have to cross the river, and we take another ferry. This one is with no motor, only using the strenght of the water, using a mecanism like that in the photograph.

Just after crossing the river, we found the Mariner's church, a church reconverted as cyclist. This one was not open, but we suppose you can get the keys somewhere. In the picture, you can see the cyclist church signal, which identify all this kind of churches.

The rest of the stage till Torgau, we didn't follow exactly the elberadweg, and we took some local roads very beautiful through the country. The last part, using the main road with quite a lot space to pass with the bycicle beside.

Finally we reach Torgau with some bike lines that we found.

POINTS OF INTEREST
   - Worlitzer park.
   - Worlitz english park with monuments and palaces.
   - Wittenberge and the Luther footprints.
   - Windmill and historic ferry.
   - Kloden castle and Church.
   - Marinen's Church (cyclist) in Priesitz.

DESTINATION POINT
Torgau is an interesting city next to the river, a bit elevated so safe of the floods. The two main attractions are the Marketplatz, with a vively market in the morning and the Shcloss, with great views of the river. There are also interesting streets with fine renacentists houses. The best view is the castle from the river's bridge.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
You can rest on the same bank of the river and not visit Witenberbe. And the final part doesn'f follow exactly the elberadweg from Dommitzsch to Torgau. So you can do a bit more kilometers following the oficial route.
