 WCRVBB-19-Biking Low Danube - STAGE 10 - Silistra-Constanta 135 km

STAGE DESCRIPTION
The last stage. The king stage. The 10th, from Silistra to Constanta. We start in Bulgaria, but the frontier is next to the city. We enter to the Romanian border, and we ride along beautiful vinyeards next to the river. We see only a branch of the river, but is inmense. We find the first dificulty. Stoned pavement. Hard, and added to the hot temperature, front wind and many hills, makes the hardest stage (135 km). We leave the main road to enter Ostrov, next to the river. Non paved roads in the center and finally we have to go up the hill to search the main road. The views on the top are excellent over the river and his branches. We also reach Dervent Church in a beautiful place.
Then we leave the river and we enter in thousands of aces of fields with vineyards, propcorn, olives, ... Extensive agriculture. Many lorries and heavy machines. We pass many hills and the most difficult are the villages, with the stone pavement. Specially Baneasa, very large and this day very hot. Negureni, Ion Corvin, Adamclisi, are other villages interesting to visit. You pass the Trajan Basilic, Trajan Monument and a Monastery are interesting spots to visit and take a rest for continue de riding. If you are tired, in Cobadin you can take the train. But with two combinations, and only few trains a day. Difficult to combine.
We continue towards Constanta and Murfatlar where starts the 20 kilometers of motorway. Very difficult to ride, with heavy traffic and cars parked in the lateral lane. The reward, arrive to Constanta and to the Black Sea. Final stage of this 1000 km over the Dunabe and through Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania.

POINTS OF INTEREST
   - Dervent Church.
   - Trajan Basilic ruins.
   - Trajan monument.
   - Deleni Monsateri (0,5 km away from the track).

DESTINATION POINT
Constanta. We arrive at blak sea. Constanta is a very intersting village with good beaches. The central park, with the primaria (town hall) and the park of the Opera are quite places to visit, with good restauranst nearby. In the historic part we have the Great Mosquee (you can climb the minaret and visit inside the buildind), the Histori museum and the Ortodox Cathidral. Very interesting the stroll of the Casino, the harbour, and all the Esplanade, that is, the path to the sportif harbour and the rest of the beaches.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
There are no alternatives routes. Only a non paved path to Andrei Basilic, but perhaps the stage is too hard for this added kilometers.
