WCRVBB-17-TOUR OF DENMARK-STAGE 03-HvideSande-Thyboron 89km

This is the 3th stage of the Tour of Denmark that you can find clicking here.

STAGE DESCRIPTION
Large third stage following the North Sea route, heading north next to the beaches and in a very dramatic scenery with steepy cliffs. The first part the route follows the main road, with few traffic, with a desviation to Leuchturn Lighthouse and some bunkers on Sondervig beach. In this village you also find the famouse Sand Sculpture museum, with many giant sand sculptures then you can visit. Later you can see more bunkers in the sand in Kryler.
In Husby you take a path in the woods on the left, that leads to Bjerghuse. The the road is straight and between the dune and the lake, heading Torsminde, with the Strandmuseum (the museum of the beach).
After Fjaltring, you stard and impressive path near the coast, where you can visit the solitary Trans Kirke and the Bovjerg lighthouse, over very high cliffs. You can climb on it with excellents views.
After Ferrying, you take some secondary roads that leads to victoria Station, a beautiful train station. Then you take a path between lakes and marsh and the dunes, where you have infinite views to Thyboron and excellents views to Cheminova factory and windmills over the lake.
and the second is a very interesting path throught dunes and little conglomerations of summerhouses between the dunes and windmills in the backdrop.

POINTS OF INTEREST
   - Many 2nd world war bunkers in the sand of the beaches.
   - International Sand Sculpture Festival in Sonderving. A permament collection of big sand sculptures.
   - Traks Kirke. Very beautiful church in a idillic landscape of cliffs.
   - Bovjerg lighthouse. In a dramatic scenary.
   - Cheminova factory and windmills. Backdrop in a neverending flat way to Thyboron.

DESTINATION POINT
Thyboron. In a Camping-Hotel. A large village with a big harbour, large beaches plenty of bunkers and some points of interest:
-    Sneglehuset (house decorated with thousands of shels).
-    Bunkers in the beach.
-    Bunkers’ museum.
-    Fishing museum.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
If you are in a hurry, follow the main road next to the bike route from Fjralting to Thyboron.
