Itinerary description
|
Long and beautiful stage with a lot of climbs and even more downhill, entirely by paved road. We find only one annoying traffic the first kilometers leaving Sapa and gradually diminishing. Just leaving Sapa we climb about 500 meters to the northern section of the Tunnel, which with its 2,000 meters high is the highest road collar in Vietnam. Once the neck is skipped, we cross the other side of the massif where is the summit of Fansipan, also the highest in the country (3,143 meters, exactly like the Pica d'Estats, the highest peak in Catalonia). Then a long and panoramic descent awaits us, where we will enjoy a spectacular landscape to the bottom of the valley, where we will begin to find small rural villages with their crops, basically rice and tea.

Sapa
Sapa is a large town with all kinds of tourist services and with a great deal of accommodation that is quite fixed and at a good price. We stayed in the one that was in front of the lake of Sapa, where they treated us most.

Waterfall

Cascada platejada (Thac Bac)
Shortly after leaving Sapa we pass by the side of the Silver-plated Waterfall (Thac Bac) which can be visited at a modest price. Anyway, going through the road looks pretty good.

Coll de Tram Ton
The northern section of Coll, with its 2,000 meters, is the highest in Vietnam and through it the massif is crossed where the highest peak in the country, the Fansipan.

Inici baixada
After the Coll de Tram Ton we start a long descent on a quiet road in very good condition surrounded by a spectacular landscape. After a while we cross a couple of cyclists who go to Sapa
