This stage also goes through asphalt secondary roads. It is a tough stage for the accumulated positive difference, but the spectacular landscape greatly compensates. We found a lot of motorcycle traffic since it was Saturday and, as we learned later on, it is quite typical that Hanoi's youth hire a moped and come back to HaGiang province for the heads of week, so if you can avoid doing it much better on Saturday or Sunday. Despite the fog we had, we were amazed by the impressive karst formations of this remote region. Both at the beginning and at the end of the stage it is easy to find accommodation, although it is better to avoid Saturday nights, as there were thousands of young tourists from Vietnam in Dong Van.
