Ante la imposibilidad de conseguir billetes para las bicis en el tren Córdoba-Jaén (RENFE/ADIF NO está ayudando la transición ecológica hacia el ocio de baja huella de carbono), optamos por dejar el coche en la Calle Goya, cerca de la estación de Jaén y volver desde el final de la Vía en Puente Genil en taxi.
Esta es la Vía Verde que más me ha gustado hasta la fecha. Primero, por la sensación de "volar" a través de un paisaje montañoso, con una gran amplitud de perspectivas, pero también por la facilidad y el mantenimiento del trazado, la belleza de los pueblos a lo largo del camino, la cercanía de sus gentes, y la logística para las ciclistas - alojamiento, agua, antiguas estaciones con cobijo y comida. La próxima vez empiezo en Albacete para combinar esta con la VV de Alcaráz.
Alojamientos, comidas y transporte:
Torredelcampo: Hotel Torrefaz. NO lo recomiendo. Caro (60€), inadecuado, servicio antipático.
Alcaudete: Hospedería Castillo de Alcaudete. 50€ Calle General Baena 15. Tel. 953091897 Excelente, salvo las campanadas de la iglesia hasta medianoche. Buen restaurante, precios parecidos a otras opciones en la zona. Desayuno: Churrería Zagalez, abajo, en la rotonda del mismo nombre.
Luque: Hostal Nicol's, en la propia estación, al pie de la vía verde. 45€ Tel. 957 674081 Habitaciones para 2 y 4. Pide nos. 7 a 11 (miran al patio, en vez de la carretera). Buena comida y desayuno.
Cabra: Bar-Rest. Eli, frente a Mercadona, a 1 km de la vía. El restaurante de la estación estaba cerrado en febrero de 2023.
Lucena: Hostal Sara C/Cabrillana. 43€, desayuno incl. Dueños simpáticos. Instalaciones muy básicas.
Puente Genil. Comer: Restaurante El Pollo, Polígono San Pancracio, C/ Alianza 3. Punto de quedada con el taxi
Taxi: Manuel Roa Tel. 639 590465 150€ Puente Genil-Jaén (1h y 20min).
Hasta 7 personas con sus bicicletas
Alternativa más económica: Volver en bici a Lucena o Cabra, desde donde suelen salir Blablacars a Jaén.

Córdoba-Jaén train impossible with bikes, so we decided to leave the car in Calle Goya, near the Jaén station, and return from the end of the greenway in Puente Genil by taxi.
This is my favourite Greenway in Spain. Firstly, for the sense of "flying" through a mountain landscape with broad perspectives, but also for the ease and maintenance of the greenway, the beauty of the villages along the way, the friendly locals, and the logistics for cyclists - accommodation, water, old stations with shelter and food.
Next time we'll start in Albacete and combine this route with the Alcaráz Greenway
Accommodation, meals and transport:
Torredelcampo: Hotel Torrefaz. NOT recommended. Expensive (60€), shoddy, unfriendly service.
Alcaudete: Hospedería Castillo de Alcaudete. 50€ Calle General Baena 15. Tel. 953091897 Excellent, except for the church bells until midnight. Good restaurant, prices similar to other options in the area. Breakfast: Churrería Zagalez, down the hill on the roundabout of the same name.
Luque: Hostal Nicol's, in the former station itself, on the greenway and at the start of the branch greenway to Baena (worth the effort). 45€ Tel. 957 674081 Rooms for 2 and 4. Ask for nos. 7 to 11 (facing the patio, not the highway). Good food and breakfast.
Cabra: Bar-Rest. Eli, opposite Mercadona, 1 km from the greenway. The restaurant at the station was closed in February 2023.
Lucena: Hostal Sara C/Cabrillana. 43, breakfast incl. Friendly owners. Very basic, shoddy facilities.
Puente Genil. Eat: Restaurante El Pollo, Polígono San Pancracio, C/Alianza 3.
Taxi: Manuel Roa Tel. 639 590465 150€ Puente Genil-Jaén (1h and 20min).
