Itinerary description

The first part of the day, up to the town of Mangakino, is carried out on a big road. In town there is a small but well-stocked supermarket. Nearby. There is also a very cozy café with good music and electricity to recharge the batteries. After the city you have to go back to get back on the trail after a few kilometers. Leaving the main road, we are on a magnificent little road without traffic but which goes uphill. At a certain point, it turns into a gravel road (see a path) and this until the end of the day. At the place where we sleep, it is the start of the “Timber trail”, an 84 km route in the backcountry and without supplies.

Camping plus ou moins officiel
The real campsite 400 m further but it has no facilities apart from toilets. It costs eight dollars. Here there is a picnic table, water available and toilets. Water must be treated before drinking.
