Itinerary description
Riding a bike out of Reykjavik can be a little challenging, but once you're out of town, the landscape is tremendous. As a note, Highway 1 (Ring Road) has a tunnel under the Hvalfjord inlet, just south of Borgarnes. Cyclists must cycle around the entire fjord, but it is worth it as there is hardly any traffic and the scenery is great.
The night was spent at a little campground which has a pool and hot tub...the perfect way to finish after a day in the saddle.
