Bienvenues au pays du fromage et des saucisson.
From the Basque Country to the Italians Alps we wandered around for a period of 3 weeks, achieving to witness the Giro d'Italia 2016 in Guillestre.
The French Cycloturist Federation(http://ffct.org/) offers maps of the recommended roads for bike touring, we used them and while recommended they are not essential.

Hi Mr. Llorca,
I am planning a bicycle route for this August and "pedaling France" seems that is really what I was looking for. I've got a question about the road it rides on thoug, is It possible to be done on a road bike?

Hello Albert,
Not all the parts of the trip are road-cyclable. If I remember well, the only part where you might find have problems is the 'Canal du Midi' which in some parts goes from gravel to a real trail. In any case, you may follow the road that goes more or less parallel. The rest of the track is actually better to do it with a road bike rather than a gravel one (my case). I'm sure you will optimize our route since one of our main drivers was to find the best cheese and bread in France. That looks good to me. Now I am to plan an alternative track parallel to the Canal du Midi to avoid the gravel part.
