Stage also very lonely and without traffic until we reach the National Highway, already near Puerto Princesa. Almost all the route is encircled, except for many sections of climbs, some of which were under construction (although no one was seen working). The climb, in spite of being the longest of the crossing, is quite comfortable, since the steadiness is in good condition and the slope is gaining unevenness progressively, without great ramps. It also helped us to do it early in the morning and that the sky was half covered. The whole climb is due to a thick tropical rainforest where we saw very little trace of human life (no people only lost a cabin in the middle of the jungle) until we reached the link with the National Highway. Just after crowning the ascent there is a spectacular prize, the waterfall of Salakot, well announced and next to the road. A nice place to cool off and get the heat out of it. In Puerto Princesa we closed the loop and we stayed at the same place as the first time, the Hibiscus Garden Inn (room for 1,800 Philippine Pesos, almost € 30 to change), compared to the previous accommodations but a great place Nice with a very hospitable staff.

PD: Crowning the port between Napsan and Puerto Princesa I had a fall stepping on the verdict from the margin of the highway encircled. Nothing serious, we were able to get on pedaling in Puerto, but I got an intercostal fracture and we had to continue the trip to the north of Palawan on a mountain bike.

Just after crowning the ascent we found a spectacular prize, the Salakot waterfall, well announced and next to the road. A nice place to cool off and get the heat out of it. Access cost us less than one euro per person.

This road that unites Napsan with Puerto Princesa is almost all encircled. Only a few kilometers away from the ascent, leaving Napsan.

National Highway

The section of the National Highway, which although being the most important highway in Palawan, has a fairly small traffic, except in the vicinity of Puerto Princesa, the capital of the island.

Even close to Puerto Princesa, the capital and most important city of Palawan, the landscape is made up of beautiful rural prints

I have followed this trail  View more

Etapa per un entorn selvàtic i solitari fins arribar a la national highway. Tot i les obres a la carretera, la pujada és fàcil i ascendeix suaument sense rampes fortes.
