Itinerary description
Nong Khiaw is the capital city of Nong Khai province, North Thailand. Its friendship bridge between Lao and Thailand was the first bridge crossing the Mekong that was built (however there are more through the river).
In this track, the final one of the Mekong river route, we started at Nong Khiaw in our hostel (Mekong guesthouse) and we finished as well in our new hostel in Udon Thani (Chanatinath Place). On the first part we went over the river, and then we left it on Ban Wiang Kuk and took the left to the highway that we left as soon as possible and took again left. We continued on the same road until we arrive to Udon Thani. When we crossed the highway we took the second on the left and continued to our hostel's street.
The route has lots of ups and downs, specially in the last part. It's also paved.
