We are awakened by the neighing of a herd of horses galloping, urged on by a shepherd who has not yet reached adolescence. The beginning of the day could not be more faithful to the imagination that we carry with us from Mongolia.

The route begins on a road with good asphalt and moderate traffic, it seems that most of it is due to local tourism, between hills.

In one of the few wooded areas that we find, we pause looking for a shade that will protect us from the powerful sun that falls on us. It seems that today is a day of historical records as far as the temperature in Mongolia is concerned.

About 45 km from the beginning, in the mountain pass at 1,673 meters above sea level, we find some small shops where local shepherds sell products derived from milk (aarul: dried curd and airag: fermented mare's milk, among others) to local tourists. . There is also a restaurant where we took the opportunity to eat and refresh ourselves. The food at this restaurant is not bad at all and you can find potato salad, similar to Russian salad, one of the few meatless dishes that can be found in Mongolia. We also tried the slightly salty milk tea which is not bad at all and hydrates us quite a bit.

Finally we arrived at a meadow a little separated from the road, near a grove of trees and a stream where we decided to camp. Shortly after, a storm begins full of lightning and thunder that echoes through the mountains and will last all night.

Although there are many kilometres, the fact of traveling on roads without major slopes makes the stage a technically easy one.
