Itinerary description
An amazing bike tour around Lago Llanquihue, not too difficult, in spectacular scenery of volcanos and green southern Chile vegetation. Mostly asphalted.
1st day: Puerto Varas - Ensenada
A pleasant ride with soft elevations, good for warming up for the next day. You are getting closer and closer to Volcano Osorno so you will have spectacular views with good weather.
2nd day: Ensenada - Puerto Octay
This route is more tough and longer than the 1st day with several ascends. I would describe it as moderate.
We start with an ascend and a view onto Volcano Osorno. Much less cars on the road and less places to get food/drinks. Take the opportunity in Cascada to fill your stocks. There is no more shop until Puerto Octay.
3rd day: Puerto Octay - Puerto Varas
This route is a bit tough if you want to do it on one day. It was the longest route with many ups and downs.
It starts with a longer ascend after Puerto Octay. Passing the wind farm you turn left and go down until the lake again. From here it is going up and down if you opt for the described route near the shore. You could split this route into two and stay one night in Frutillar to rest.
Last 8 km from Llanquihue to Puerto Varas are not asphalted and not well signed.
