La Parenzana was an old narrow-gauge railway that connected the city of Trieste to Buje and Poreč, built by the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1902. www.parenzana.it
It starts from Motovun for the last stage of the parenzana. A beautiful and steep descent accompanies us to the foot of the village, here a series of construction sites and works in progress forces us to deviate making us avoid the longest tunnel (222 meters dark and sometimes crossed by agricultural means) when it is said that all evil comes to harm, perhaps it is true.
You start to climb in the middle of the woods for a few kilometers, seeing Montona in the distance, who seems to say goodbye. At the height of the village of Vizinada begins the gradual descent to the sea and then to Poreč the forest and the countryside ends and slowly begins to skirt the main road that in a few kilometers will take us to the outskirts and then to the city center of Porec where the parenzana ends.
