Itinerary description
Keflavik airport to Reykjavik on half loaded touring bike.
I made this route to find the route with lowest possible traffic between Kef and Rvik. Some parts are on bike paths. Some parts on fairly good gravel road and rest on paved car shared road with car traffic. 7km of the distance is shared with heavy traffic but it is not that bad as it is on the shoulder of the road.
One gate must be passed. It is marked as closed and a dead end, but it is still possible for bikes if you can walk the bike like 50 meters.
My tires were 700x38c and fully enough for the gravel part. Some wind might be expected as the route is open to the Atlantic.
