Itinerary description

A varied ride starting at the Swedish-Finnish border at Karesuando, through the Käsivarsi with an excursion to the Swedish villages Keinovuopio and Kummavuopio (Swedens northernmost inhabitation), along Kilpisjärvi down to the Norwegian Storfjord at Skibotn. Then along Storfjorden and Ullsfjorden north to Nord-Lenangen. From here a passenger boat (in 2012, this goes twice a week; check timetable at www.tromskortet.no) to Vannvåg at the beautiful and peaceful island of Vannøya. All the way to the end at Torsvåg at the Arctic Ocean. Then back with the car-ferry (several time a day) to Hansnes and along the county road over Ringvassøya. Through the subocean tunnel (short, just 60-ish metres deep) to Kvaløya and on to Tromsø.

I took a bus from Kiruna to Karesuando and then a bus back from Tromsø via Narvik to Kiruna.

Easy, apart from the little excursion Keinovuopio–Kummavuopio, but this is fully optional.
