Itinerary description
Very beautifull circular tour around the Grimming mountain, almost completely along bicycle paths and traffic free or low traffic roads. From Öblarn to Trautenfels it follows the waymarked Ennsradweg. Warning : the very scenic road along the Salzastausee (L729) is forbidden for all traffic including pedestrians due to the risk of rockfall. As the road is no longer maintained, there are other risks too. In 2010 a walker fell 8 meters into the lake because the wooden handrail on which he rested was rotten. So, be careful and on your own risk ! Unfortunately, for bikers there is no alternative in the near neighbourhood to avoid this road. Let's hope the authorities will ever reopen this fantastic road for bikers and pedestrians.
