Day 6 Valdivia to Puerto Varas - The Secret Connection
Cars have to go around by a steep and dirty exodus, but bikes can slip through on this fun finale to the ride. Eventually gets you alongside the railroad tracks on a rubbly but rideable trail and then drops you back to pavement. This is why we recommend fatter tires, for stuff like this and the many other asides you were able to explore with tread.
Brings you right into the Varas shoreline. Once you pass through the town of Llanquihue you need to Zoom-in on the satellite map and look for the very specific turns that will drop you into Varas home free. Zoom and pick out the turns and trails. Print them before arriving there in case your cell phone signal gets weak.
