then a few blocks on local streets and alleys TO AVOID excess up & down to reach the crest at Point Loma Blvd;

This is the crest of the ridge at last. It’s all down hill or flat to complete, as long as you avoid side streets that cross canyons up and down.

West Point Loma Blvd has good bike lanes physically separated in this stretch. Alternate route is behind the mall, take Ollie Street to Venus Street, then wind through Loma Riviera Drive and apartments, back to West Point Loma Blvd, The Famosa Slough at Adrian is just 2 blocks west to our start point
