Itinerary description
I wrongly thought this section would be one of the nicest rides of our trip but the highway is narrow, the traffic was heavy and the wind was in our faces. Any other day Bicheno would have been a very pleasant place to stop. We stayed in a clean and neat and tidy motel which was surprisingly restful. The 48 kilometre trip took us most of the day because of the wind and the 336 metres of climb was probably more painful than it should have been.
