We left Postojna on a road through forests, quiet but where several buses pass us on our way to our next stop: Predjama Castle. A short but hard slope will take us to this fortress, in a location where one understands how it was for so long impregnable, embedded almost in one of the limestone cliffs typical of the Karst. We continue rolling through the massif in continuous subeybajas, we have gone from the pure mountain to the rompepiernas stages, but we remain immersed in an exuberant nature. Meadows, cereal fields and forests are happening on roads rather than secondary. The environment is what one has always imagined when thinking of rural Eastern Europe, has that dot to ... Transylvania.
We keep on rolling, trying to be silent: not in vain have they warned us that we are in the bear zone and they are pretty procurers. After the hardest slope before Laze and another one that is also not past Manco Senozece, we started to go down to neighboring Italy. The descent is smooth and stretched until we cross the border. Once past Basovizza, the first Italian town, it becomes vertiginous, with the Adriatic sea in front of us to end up losing us in the bustle of the active and historic city of Trieste.
