From Shimla, with rain for hours, you go up a good narrow road and very little traffic to Kufri, a town with good-looking accommodation to stay; then it goes downhill and then a gentle climb to India: long and with little unevenness, but continuous, towards Narkanda through valleys of cedars and crops with fruit trees.
