Itinerary description
Cercedilla - Colmenar Viejo
After going uphill to Cercedilla the day before, riding our bicycles back to Colmenar was really easy and enjoyable.
I strongly recommend both ways. Stunning landscapes.
My only warning about this trail would be to check the route you are going to take in advance. We did not have a look on the trail because we thought it was going to be ok once we had done this route the day before and because it was all down hill but after passing by Manzanares el Real we turned right onto a secondary trail and did not follow the main trail we already knew.
As a result of that, we ended up in a really difficult and tricky trail. It turned out to be a dry river or something like that, a bumpy way full of big and small stones not rideable where we needed to walk, pushing up our bikes to overtake the obstacles. It would have been easier if we had not been carrying heavy panniers but apart from that, the route is really easy and I did enjoy it.
