Itinerary description
An easy circular ride from Carcassonne by the river Aude to Trebes, than back to Carcassonne via the Canal du Midi. I left from the free car park on Quai Bellevue, biked over the Pont Vieux, then onto the cycle path to Montredon. Unfortunately the path was being worked on so I had to deviate through the sports stadium before getting back on the path by the race course. The path ran alongside the river Aude to Montredon, then by a series of very quiet country lane to Trebes. Here I had to use the main road to get into the village and across the Aude. Nice cafes here, by the Canal du Midi basin, if you want a coffee. Then it's an easy ride along the Canal du Midi to Carcassonne and back to the starting point.
