Itinerary description
The Bőköz Greenway start from Kémes, and and passing along the following route : Kémes – Adorjás-Kórós-Rádfalva- Diósviszló- Márfa- Terehegy (Harkány)-Drávaszabolcs-Drávacsehi-Drávapalkonya-Kémes. The eastern Ormánság of Bőköz is a “mikroregion”: middle ages takes it’s name from the “Bő” river and the Dráva meeting. The bycicle tour start from the more then a hundred years old mill building in Kémes, the Greenway Center. The route of the follow attractions promise: In the settlement the local weaving mastermand his private collention waiting for interested.
Leaving Kémes we ride a bike to Adorjás, the Reformed church that built in 1836 , we can see it’s ornate, painted gallery , and the former raised church’s preserved tree cassettes. In Kórós, the wide storage, in the middle of the village’ former floodplain we can find Hungary’s one of the most valuable painted wooden structure, cassettes reformed church, do not miss! In Rádfalva’s guesthouse waiting for the tourists to take a rest. In Diósviszló we can buy honey producton, homemade meat products, local wines , and we can rest in the courtyard of a local family village accommodation in addition to built their own oven.
Followging Márfa’ herb garden’s exiting smells , in the Terehegy we can taste marmalade, and also we can see the carver craftsman’ works. Be sure to look at the ormóra’s village center, that the reformed church’ building dominate. We can ride a bycicle beetwen at Harkány and Drávaszabolcs on the asphalted bike path.
In Drávaszabolcs we can watch the surviving military bunkers from the II. cataclysm with the local guide helping. Leaving the village opposite the Croatian-Hungarian border( on the road bridge) water possessed we can walk sail on the Dráva. Two routes we can go from here: exceeding the embankment paved bike path, which follows the old Dráva leading into the Black Water, or Drávapalkonya and Drávacsehi and the small villages across the road.
