Itinerary description
Always early in the morning, we depart from St. Nikola to the wine region (Wachau), coveted goal of both. Fortunately, the rain stopped after ten minutes from the beginning of our trip, but we were so well equipped that we could endure however. We used a small wooden boat in Grein, for the passage across the river Danube, recommended by the guide. Worthy of attention Melk, with its abbey, really fascinating. The path also passes here in the woods, and only in the last kilometers, just before to arrive to our third goal, the landscape changes completely and becomes from thick and tall trees to vineyards and fruit trees, especially apricots (wachauer marille) and peaches. Here we saw a lot of villages not to be missed. But above all Scwhaigen the winery where we got drunk! ... we could take a refreshing walk after dinner to sober up. All delicious.
