Itinerary description
A terrific ride along the west and north coast of the Snaefells peninsula, including riding through a national park encompassing the mighty Snaefellsjokul glacier. Nice towns of Hellissandur, Rif and Olafsvik provide good lunch options and Grundarfjordur has a nice campground, swimming/hot tub, groceries and a good restaurant.
As a note, depending on the time of year (I was in July), most of this road is within an Arctic Tern nesting ground and these little birds are very aggressive as they dive bomb any people that wander into their territory. Fortunately, I had a helmet and their attacks were not mortal.
