Started at Novo Mesto at 8:30 with freshly made supplies. Drizzle almost immediately for a full 3-4 hours. On the legs no annoyance for the rain, the bust well covered by K-Way that has a good seal. Another nice stop, apart from the bypass of Zagreb, where I also lose a sandwich in the middle of a busy traffic circle. Woods crossed by beautiful little roads and a lot of countryside to appear abandoned, if not for some new cottage. In the small towns, beautiful typical houses, made with wooden planks more than 6 cm thick, embedded in the head of a swallow's tail and with moldings on the windows decorated with low relief, some of which are beautiful. For long stretches it seems to be in the film "The Tree of the Hooves". The greatest wonder was the atmosphere along the second river flanked and crossed today, the Sava, where a "Charon", as our Rigatti, Rumiz and Altan call it, waits for vehicles and people to ferry them to the other side where they will then continue the journey on the opposite bank. Without this barge of iron, it would take many kilometers of road to reach the goal that is Ivanic Grad. The aforementioned type is a poor man who sleeps in the barge gate, and all puts on a total desolation mixed with wonder and charm, for the atmosphere of other times in which we suddenly fell. The barge is not powered but, being attached to a steel cable pulled between the two banks about thirty meters upstream, exploits the opposite current to "ferry", called in canoe term, and go from a bank to the other. Wonderful moment, after which the road continues among semi-abandoned villages with occasional storks perched on poles and chimneys, large birds of prey, swans that wallow along the banks of rivers and ponds and all the farm animals that flow in front of you. Kilometers many, maybe too many. We realize that "our" have really cycled, but we also defend well, hoping not to have to pay the bill then. We arrive late, at 6:45 pm, to Ivanic Grad, just over a country, with oil extraction industries and pumps, with very few hotels. You are therefore forced to choose the closest to where we happen, both for the tiredness and for the late hour. Today it touches us a 4-star, arrogant and full of saunas, massages, tennis and gyms and more for the use of the wealthy of the surroundings. We treat the cost that goes from 95 to 70 euros, with breakfast and bike shelter inside the server room, al fresco, while at the beginning they wanted to let us leave out (crazy!). We are tempted to stay and then we find ourselves in a room with three beds, luxurious bathroom, bar, armchairs, mirrors to finish and so on. Dinner at the "Garfield", where with lots of salamelecchi we serve soup and trout with vegetables in foil and three Karlovacko for 11 euros each.
