Itinerary description
14k holy trail with stops at multiple lingams and temples dedicated to Lord Shiva... difficulty is much higher as a devotee pilgrim, since you MUST do the entire walk barefoot, and advisably gazing at Lord Shiva (Mt. Arunachala) the entire time. many places to get food and drink, as well as bathrooms, along the way. me and the two Indian guys I met to walk with were lucky since it was cloudy and thus cool, but never rained. otherwise, start early to avoid heat, I was told. amazing feeling at end, reaching Annamalaiyar Temple for darshan of the final lingam, strolling thru the central streets of Tiruvannamalai with your feet connected to the Earth, and your soul with those of all the others walking, and all of mankind and the One universe! (as always, Wikiloc did not record the last stretch of the hike, which was the full circle of 14km)
