Itinerary description
The third peak of the Watzmann is the most popular, as the slope is gentler and the views are equally spectacular. Upon reaching 1900 meters in altitude, it is where you need to veer left and progress smoothly until reaching the summit, which offers impressive views.
The outing took place on March 23rd, when there was a scarcity of snow at lower altitudes, but with snowfall starting from 1200 meters, making it an ideal option to go in search of powder snow. The arrival of a front bringing more snow and strong winds made us hurry to reach the summit before noon, while our surroundings darkened and visibility began to decrease.
