DAY 3 Refuge Zavascka Koca (Prehodavci) 2071 m Refuge Triglavski dom na Kredarici 2515m
We get carried away, and indeed there is a lot of fog, we leave the refuge early leaving it as we have found it and with peace we follow the traces we left yesterday, this saves us a lot of navigation work with gps since the visibility at the beginning is very bad.
We climb the hill that is to the left of the top of the Poprovec and cross the Hribaric plateau beneath the Kanjavec, the sky begins to open and just as it reaches the neck (2,373m) between Kanjavec ( 2569m) and the MiseljsKi Konec (2464m) opens everything and we can divide the Triglav massif and the entire Velska dolina valley that we will have to descend.
The exit of the neck is a little delicate with some ice sheet and a very narrow snow that with the weight of the pianos that we carry in the back make us sweat every turn, the rebounds and bell towers are insured. At once we are getting to the bottom of the valley and the snow is improving, and can enjoy some tubes and slopes with good snow. We are losing height while the valley is turning to the right, on our left there is the Triglav massif and we are already going to see the blades and the neck that we have to overcome. At the 1950 level we stopped and put on skins again. We started to climb a hill with trees and immediately we have to start flanking steep slopes to find some runners that will take us with a strong slope and many bowls to a neck. At one point, there are those who prefer to make the last 100 m with the skis on the back with a strong slope and others we turn to the right to find a wider channel that allows us to climb up to the neck with the skis on the feet We are lucky with the status of the snow cover, because of this area with good snow accumulation it would not have been sensible to pass through it, it is ridden by ancient avalanches and the size of the trees is evident. From here the terrain is applied and with ease and speed we reach the neck of Konjsko Sedlo where we already intend the final climb to Kredaraci. At this point the panorma is impressed, large rocky walls and long and deep valleys are seen everywhere. First we have to flank outstanding forts to get closer to the channels that will take us to the refuge. In this section we find the first people since we left Dom'na Komni, skiers who descend from Triglavski dom. We went back to the shovels and the canals, doing a short skis on the back with a rock edge that saves us a good stretch of maria vaults in one of the channels. In the final stretch with the southern face of the Triglav in front of us, we see that there are two options, to climb the shovel just below the Triglav fairly right and these hours already in the shade or for the shovel that is more south, more Wide and gentle slope and in these moments still sunny, we opt for this last option that brings us easily to the top of Kredarica where there is the Triglavski Dom Shelter.
The refuge at this time of year is closed but the meteorologists who occupy a side of the shelter, give us accommodation in a room very well equipped with blankets and we sell drinks, tea and even a small dinner of soup and sausage.
Another long but spectacular stage in the bag and the envelope.
