Itinerary description
Day 3 of a circular version of the Tour du Ciel, out of Zinal. In the Valais / Wallis, Switzerland.
From the Grand Mountet refuge, via the spectacular arete du blanc and Dome Blanc du Moming, across the Glacier Moming, to Cabine Arpitetta. The arete is spectacular but only for those with climbing experience and a head for heights. The glacier descent and crossing is beautiful but complex and should only be done in good visibility. The Cabine d'Arpitetta is listed as unguarded but the guardians are often there, so check ahead. Or just buy a night's food from the previous hut. It is a lovely little hut, the nicest on the tour.
