Itinerary description
(ski mountaineering)
A difficult cross of psiloritis massif.
The conditions were relatively good. The climb to stolistra peak was difficult and technical so it is important to have with you crampons and ice axe.
Stolistra is the first over 2000m peak of psiloritis mountain range (from east to west). When you are on stolistra peak you can see the western part of crete (including lefka ori mountains) and the highest summit of psiloritis, timios stavros.
The summitline to timios stavros and agathias peak the terain is not steep (easy).
From agathias peak and from voulomenou peak you can see the east part of psiloritis (max alt 1800-1900m and dikti mountain)
My plan was to ski more on the east side until kousakas peak and kouruna peak but i was running out of time because i started late and also due to the lack of snow is some parts, plus the difficulty of stolistra peak.
Maybe a good idea (but with snow cover from 1600-1700) is to start climbing kourouna peak and then go east to ideon andron andfrom ther start climbing kousakas vouloumenou agathias timios stavros and srolistra.
