ADVERTENCIA: Itinerario de montaña. Se recomienda que lo realicen personas que controlen bien la utilización de GPS o APPs de topografía y con conocimientos de orientación.

NOTA DE INTERÉS:
Salimos del Tatry Holiday Resort, en Velki Slavkov, a las 07,45 horas para desayunar en el U SEPTIMA, a la entrada de Podrad (5€ pax- tipo buffet) bien atendidos y servidos. Estábamos tan a gusto que alguno ha repetido hasta café. Terminado el desayuno nos hemos encaminado hacia la Estación de Esquí de JASNÁ en el Bajo Tatra. Llegados a la estación hemos subido con la furgoneta hasta la misma barrera del hotel SOREA SNP (WP Nº 1), son las 10,00 horas. Tras pasar la barrera del hotel, bajamos por pista-sendero unos metros (WP Nº 2) a la pista Biela Put (WP Nº 3) donde calzamos los esquís y por donde vamos a comenzar a ascender.
Enseguida encontramos señales que marcan el camino a seguir para los esquiadores de travesía.
Llegado el primer cruce de pistas nos desviamos a nuestra izquierda, en dirección SE, ascendiendo por el lateral izquierdo, en el sentido de la marcha, de la pista que no tiene una pendiente digamos suave. Esta pista nos deja en la zona de la motriz de Priehyba (WP Nº4). Nos reunimos y tomamos por la pista de nuestra derecha en dirección S, Pretekárska Lukova - Preihyba, ascendemos por el lado izquierdo de la pista E, en sentido de la marcha, y fuerte pendiente durante unos trescientos metros y noventa metros de desnivel para abandonar la pista (WP Nº 5) en dirección SSE en una pesada diagonal (WP Nº 6) hasta alcanzar el cruce con una nueva pista (WP Nº 7), al llegar a ella giramos a nuestra derecha en dirección WSW, avanzamos unos 100 metros en esa dirección y salimos de nuevo de ella (WP Nº 8) para trazar varias “zetas” en dirección SSW y ascender unos ciento cuarenta metros para llegar a un nuevo cruce con pista (WP Nº 9). En este cruce giramos a nuestra izquierda, SSE, y avanzamos por pista en esa dirección durante unos doscientos setenta metros y ganando otros cuarenta metros de desnivel. Alcanzamos un nuevo cruce de pista en el giramos a nuestra derecha en dirección SSW y avanzamos hasta alcanzar el cruce con la pista principal de la estación “Priehyba-Chopok”, avanzamos desde este lugar por el lateral izquierdo de la pista en el sentido de la marcha y por fuerte pendiente. A nuestra izquierda en dirección SSE vemos la cima del Chopok.
Alcanzamos la motriz de la “Priehyba-Chopok”, donde hay una gran cafetería con vistas panorámicas. Sin quitar pieles descendemos unos metros en dirección SE para situarnos en el collado NW del Chopok (WP Nº 10). Aquí quitamos esquís y calzamos crampones, cogemos el piolet y ascendemos los últimos treinta metros de ladera NNW del pico Chopok de 2024 metros de altitud (WP Nº 11). El poner o no los crampones depende de cada uno pero la seguridad prima ante todo lo demás.
Tras las fotografía de rigor descendemos al collado por el mismo itinerario, recogemos crampones y piolet y volvemos a calzar los esquís para subir a la motriz de “Priehyba-Chopok” donde nos preparamos para descender.
Descendemos por la pista de “Priehyba-Chopok”, en dirección N, la nieve está muy transformada con algún trocito disfrutón. Alcanzamos la zona de Priehyba giramos a nuestra izquierda para descender a la pista de Biela Put y por ella llegar al sendero donde iniciamos nuestra ascensión al CHOPOK. Han sido cuatro horas desde que salimos del aparcamiento hasta nuestra llegada a el.

NOTE OF INTEREST:
We left the Tatry Holiday Resort, in Velki Slavkov, at 7:45 a.m. to have breakfast at the U SEPTIMA, at the entrance to Podrad (€5 pax - buffet style) well attended and served. We were so comfortable that some of us even had coffee again. After breakfast we headed towards the JASNÁ Ski Resort in the Low Tatras. Arriving at the station we took the van up to the barrier of the SOREA SNP hotel (WP No. 1), it is 10:00 am. After passing the hotel barrier, we go down the track-trail a few meters (WP No. 2) to the Biela Put track (WP No. 3) where we put on our skis and where we are going to begin to ascend.
We immediately found signs that mark the path to follow for backcountry skiers.
Once we reach the first crossroads, we turn to our left, heading SE, ascending the left side, in the direction of travel, of the track, which does not have a gentle slope. This track leaves us in the Priehyba power plant area (WP Nº4). We meet and take the track on our right in the S direction, Pretekárska Lukova - Preihyba, we ascend the left side of the E track, in the direction of travel, and a steep slope for about three hundred meters and ninety meters of difference in altitude to leave the track (WP No. 5) in a SSE direction in a heavy diagonal (WP No. 6) until reaching the junction with a new track (WP No. 7), upon reaching it we turn to our right in a WSW direction, we advance about 100 meters on that direction and we leave it again (WP No. 8) to trace several “zetas” in a SSW direction and ascend about one hundred and forty meters to reach a new junction with a track (WP No. 9). At this intersection we turn to our left, SSE, and advance along the track in that direction for about two hundred and seventy meters and gaining another forty meters of elevation gain. We reach a new track junction where we turn to our right in a SSW direction and advance until we reach the junction with the main track of the “Priehyba-Chopok” station. We advance from this place along the left side of the track in the direction of the march and steep slope. To our left in a SSE direction we see the summit of Chopok.
We reach the “Priehyba-Chopok” motorway, where there is a large cafeteria with panoramic views. Without removing skins we descend a few meters in a SE direction to reach the NW pass of Chopok (WP No. 10). Here we remove skis and put on crampons, take the ice ax and ascend the last thirty meters of the NNW slope of the 2024 meter high Chopok peak (WP No. 11). Whether or not to put crampons on depends on each person, but safety takes precedence over everything else.
After the required photographs, we descend to the hill along the same route, pick up crampons and ice axes and put on our skis again to climb the “Priehyba-Chopok” motorway where we prepare to descend.
We descend along the “Priehyba-Chopok” track, heading north, the snow is very transformed with some nice bits. We reach the Priehyba area, we turn to our left to descend to the Biela Put track and along it we reach the path where we begin our ascent to CHOPOK. It has been four hours from the time we left the parking lot until our arrival at it.

12 PF- APARCAMIENTO FURGONETA

05-APR-18 2:00:26 PM After the required photography, we descend to the pass along the same route, collect crampons and ice axes and put the skis back on to get on the “Priehyba-Chopok” motorway where we prepare to descend. We go down the "Priehyba-Chopok" track, heading N, the snow is very transformed with some enjoyable bits. We reached the Priehyba area, we turned to our left to descend to the Biela Put trail and through it we reached the path where we began our ascent to CHOPOK. It has been four hours since we left the parking lot until we arrived at it.
